Best Football Betting Sites UK 2026: Premier League & Beyond

Football is the UK’s biggest betting sport by a considerable distance. The Premier League alone generates more betting turnover in a single weekend than most sports manage in a full season. Add the Championship, FA Cup, Champions League, and international fixtures and you’ve got markets available almost every day from August to May. The bookmakers have invested accordingly: accumulator insurance, Same Game Multis, live streaming for selected matches, and in-play markets that update by the minute.

These thirteen bookmakers all hold UKGC licences and cover football comprehensively. We’ve re-ranked them specifically for football: acca features, #BuildABet-style markets, and live streaming access are weighted more heavily here than they are on the main page.

The football markets that carry most of the money

Four markets take most of the football turnover in the UK: match result, both teams to score, over or under 2.5 goals and the Asian handicap. Everything else is built on top of them. The bet builder, which BetMGM prices from 10p and which Virgin Bet and 10Bet offer across 150 and roughly 172 markets on a big fixture, combines those base markets into one price on one match, and the margin on a builder is the margins of its legs multiplied together. A three-leg builder at three books with 105% margins is a 116% product before you have picked a team.

That arithmetic is the reason the builder is the most profitable market a bookmaker runs and the reason a two-leg builder on a market you know is a better bet than a six-leg one on markets you do not.

Accumulator insurance and boosts, in plain terms

Coral’s Acca Insurance refunds the stake as a free bet when exactly one leg of a five-fold or larger accumulator loses; BetVictor runs a similar product. The conditions sit in the short terms: a minimum price per leg, a maximum refund and the refund arriving as a token rather than cash. It does not change the margin on the accumulator itself, which is compounding leg by leg exactly as the builder does. Five legs at 105% each is a book of roughly 128%, and the insurance is the operator’s way of making that number feel smaller than it is.

Price boosts on headline fixtures, which BetMGM and Coral run through the season, work differently. On the boosted selection the margin is cut or removed, so a boost on a bet you wanted anyway is worth taking.

Outrights, top four and relegation

Season-long markets tie a stake up for nine months, and the price moves after every round of fixtures. BoyleSports’ Price Promise on football outrights, its League-winner and top-four markets in particular, matches a better industry price where one exists, which is worth something in August when the outright market is at its widest. Cash Out on an outright is offered at most of the books here, but the cash-out figure is built from the current in-play odds with the margin applied on both sides, so it is rarely the value it looks in October.

Streaming rights and what can actually be watched

Saturday 3pm Premier League matches cannot be streamed in the UK by anyone, bookmakers included. What the apps here stream is selected fixtures from overseas leagues and cups where the operator holds rights: Midnite covers selected matches rather than a full card, Virgin Bet builds its streams into the in-play view, and 247Bet’s football streaming is limited despite its in-play depth. For the fixtures that matter most, the television is the picture and the app is the market, and the market moves a few seconds before the picture does.

Grosvenor is worth naming for one practical reason: its support runs around the clock, and a queried football bet on a Saturday evening gets answered on a Saturday evening.

Frequently Asked Questions

Match result (1X2) is the standard starting point. Both teams to score, correct score, and first goalscorer are popular additions. Same Game Multi, combining multiple selections from a single match into one bet, has become one of the most-used markets since its introduction. For bigger returns, accumulators across multiple matches remain very popular, particularly on Premier League weekends.
An accumulator (or acca) combines multiple match results into a single bet. All selections must win for the bet to pay out. The odds multiply across each leg, so a five-team acca at evens each would return 32-1. Most bookmakers offer Acca Insurance: if one leg lets you down, you get a refund as a free bet.
In-play betting can offer value, particularly if you're watching the match and spot something the market hasn't priced in yet. Both teams to score, next goalscorer, and match result all update continuously. One downside: bookmakers sometimes suspend markets during goal kicks, corners, and VAR checks, which can be frustrating.
A Same Game Multi (also called #BuildABet, Bet Builder, or similar) lets you combine multiple selections from a single match (for example, a specific player to score, both teams to score, and over 2.5 goals) into one bet with combined odds. BetMGM's Bet Builder, which takes stakes from 10p, is one example; most major bookmakers now offer a version.
VAR can result in goals being disallowed or penalties being awarded retrospectively. Bookmakers typically settle bets on the official match result, so a goal that stood at 90 minutes but was later overturned in extra review would affect bets accordingly. In-play markets may be suspended during VAR reviews.
Asian handicap removes the draw outcome by giving one team a goal start. A -1 handicap on the favourite means they need to win by two or more goals for your bet to win. A +0.5 handicap on the underdog means they just need to not lose by more than zero: a draw pays. It's a more precise market than standard 1X2.
