Knowing whether the darts is on tonight used to be simple, because for twenty years it was on the BBC and it was on at Lakeside. It is not simple any more. The PDC calendar runs from January to December across Sky Sports and ITV4, the WDF events surface on federation streams, and the answer to “is the darts on tonight” changes from one evening to the next.
This page answers it for today. The block below is regenerated every morning from the tournament calendar, so it tells you what is actually on tonight, which channel is carrying it and roughly when play starts — then lists everything coming up over the next three months.
Is darts on TV tonight?
No televised darts tonight. Next up is World Grand Prix 2026, which starts Monday 5 October (in 37 days) on Sky Sports Action.
What channel is the darts on?
Nothing is live tonight. The map below applies whenever an event is running.
| Broadcaster | What they show |
|---|---|
| Sky Sports | The bulk of the PDC calendar — World Championship, World Matchplay, World Grand Prix, Grand Slam and Premier League Darts. Usually Sky Sports Action, with a dedicated Sky Sports Darts channel during the World Championship. |
| ITV4 | The ITV majors — European Championship, Players Championship Finals, UK Open and the Masters. Free to air, which makes ITV4 the one to know if you are not a Sky subscriber. |
| BBC | No longer holds live PDC rights. The BBC televised the Lakeside World Championship for decades, which is why many viewers still look for darts there first. |
| Federation streams | WDF and lower-tier events, where coverage is stream-only and often not on a UK broadcaster at all. |
What time is the darts on tonight?
No live darts tonight, so there are no session times to give.
The pattern across the PDC calendar is consistent: afternoon sessions from around 12:30–13:00 and evening sessions from 19:00 UK time, with the evening session carrying the marquee ties. Premier League Darts nights are a single evening session. The World Championship at Alexandra Palace runs both an afternoon and an evening session on most days.

How to watch darts live online
Sky Sports events stream through Sky Go and NOW for anyone with a subscription, which covers the World Championship, the World Matchplay, the World Grand Prix, the Grand Slam and Premier League Darts. ITV4 coverage streams free on ITVX, and since ITV holds the European Championship, the Players Championship Finals, the UK Open and the Masters, a decent share of the televised calendar is watchable at no cost.
Several bookmakers also carry live PDC streams for funded accounts, which is a route worth knowing if you are following an event that clashes with something else; the guide to in-play betting sites covers which operators stream darts alongside their markets. WDF events, including the World Championship at Lakeside, are less consistently covered — coverage is often a federation stream rather than a UK broadcaster, and it is not always announced far in advance.
Where the darts moved to, and why
The reason so many people still search for darts on the BBC is that the BBC is where it lived. Televised darts was a BBC invention in the sense that mattered: the Lakeside World Championship ran on BBC coverage from 1978 and became a fixture of the winter schedule. After the BDO wound up, the WDF took over the Lakeside event and live darts left the BBC entirely.
What replaced it is a bigger calendar on more channels. Sky Sports built the PDC into a year-round product, ITV took a run of majors and put them on free-to-air, and the sport now has televised action in most months of the year rather than a single fortnight in January. The trade-off is that you have to check where it is — which is what the panel at the top of this page is for. The current rankings show who arrives at each event in form.
